INTRODUCTION AND AIMS:The Valemont concept refers to a machine whose characteristics are simplicity, sterility, and versatility. Simplicity follows from use of compressed air driven fluid, ultrafiltration (UF) that is regulated without a pump by volume measurement through calibrated lines and clamps. Absolute sterility is guaranteed by the use of 15 to 40 liters of dialysis fluid contained in pre-packaged sterile bags with ultra pure water, and the use of standardized disposable lines. …
